John at Readyheli has a banner where he is advertising for the new 500. Could mean that it is very close :)

It isnt that many parts that makes it different from the L10 and L14 so it is possible that the production line is all ready in place?

Shawn I'm sorry, you don't need to split the frames to push the bearings out! Just loosen the bolts around the bearing "blocks" some and push em out

I hope this doesn't turn out to another Razor/Aurora wait and see. :?

Bobby, take a number and get in line behind me. I already put all my nitro stuff on the market to prepare for my Logo fleet. :glasses2:

Awesome news! That just makes sense and made these an even better purchase. Danny any idea at all on availability? I know you can't say exact but are we looking at 30-45 days or perhaps months.....I need something else to build and tweak and don't want to be distracted to long.

I am sure you guys over in Europe will have them long before we see them in the US. :arggg:
Oh well, it's going to be a fun year at least

We heard the 15th as well, to ship from Germany. So, depending on US customs, etc. there should be something in the country at least by mid March. Of course, subject to change with so many people in the mix.

While those numbers might give us an idea (and they do seem reasonable), don't forget that import and distribution costs may add to the final US prices. We would hope Mikado would help keep pricing in-line with Europe, but it really is easier for them to get product to UK or French consumers than it is to the US. Kit prices have been protected in the past by the US distributor, and we could assume that is still the case. That means every US dealer will market the same price.

Cool thing is that with all the upgrades included in the new 3D versions, it will ultimately cost less than outfitting the current Logo 14 with the upgrades most of us are using (thrust bearing tail, CF tail case, etc.).

Latest update on US dealers having them in stock is early to mid April - subject to change, as always.

Euro To US conversion:

Preis für den L500 DX - 349,- € = $455
Preis für den L500 3D - 449,- € = $585
Preis für den L600 DX - 359,- € = $467
Preis für den L600 3D - 549,- € = $715

I was hoping for more "reasonable" :WOW

OK, keep things in perspective. Let's look at today's heli industry:

First, look at how many helicopters on the market REQUIRE aftermarket or manufacturer upgrades to get them to fly like those commenting here need them to. Now, figure out the costs associated with those upgrades (shipping, time, un-used stock parts, etc.).

Second, look at the old Logo 14 kits and the Mikado upgrades that actually do enhance performance (thrust bearing tail hub, CF tail case, Aluminum washout base, aluminum motor baseplate, upgraded gearing to prevent stripping, etc.). Now, add all those items to the cost of the kit, and if this heresay pricing is even close, the new kits are actually cheaper!

Third, compare this pricing to the other kits available today, while considering the performance out of the box.

This rumored pricing is indeed, at least, reasonable.

Thats a fair statement:

Razor is $690
TT e620 is $490

I think that conversion is worthless when you look at the actual pricing in the EU vs. US

Logo 14 kit, great german e-shop: 629.00 Euros
Logo 14 kit, readyheli.com : 599.95 Dollars

You guys can just wait on the final pricing outcome over there.

TT e620 SE is priced at 479.00 Euros here

rerazor, I think what he is saying is simply that "over there" they are charging eevn more, I am pretty sure those numbers he is stating is what they are paying. Ultimately if that is the trend we may see for ex the 600 for under 700USD in the end, I hope so at least...I'll still get one no matter what, it might be just abit harder to swallow is all.

Good points Chandler. I probably spent an extra $200 on upgrades for my Logo10 which are included in the new kits. So it will actually be cheaper.

Guys remember that the Europe price includes the 16% VAT/IVA tax that we don't have to pay in US.

Readyheli has the price on 500 DX/3D

http://www.readyheli.com/Mikado_Logo_10_3d_14_24_V_Bar_Helicopters_s/45.htm
500 DX $369.95
500 3D $459.95

I guess 600 3D will be around $550.

While those numbers might give us an idea (and they do seem reasonable), don't forget that import and distribution costs may add to the final US prices.

To re-iterate, we have ALWAYS seen US pricing from European manufacturers come in higher than the currency converted Euro prices.

Here are some points we are fighting here in the US:

1. It costs money to send items to the US
2. The European demand is high, and local, causing a hefty decision on the part of the manufacturer to sell to the US (look at Henseleit)
3. US Customers that want this product will pay for it
4. Marketing in the US is expensive (try to find a Mikado advertisement in a US magazine)
5. Lack of market proliferation in the US, versus Europe

If you look at Mikado's history, they have always had bleeding edge ideas and product that works perfectly on it's release. So why are there more Raptors than Logos in the market? Proximity and market drive.

The American market is like a bunch of kids at Christmas watching TV commercials. Whatever manufacturer puts up the most ads gets all the kid's business (remember Elmo?). Couple that with cheap prices (albeit cheaper products), and the decision is made to purchase inferior items. Only those who have made this mistake, and still choose to stick with the hobby, realize it actually costs more in the end.

The application you intend to use any product is what should actually determine your decision to purchase. Budget and availability should be secondary.

All that said, our prices will most definately be slightly higher. Justification is in your mind and wallet.
