I just got my Futaba 9C Super radio and am not real comfortable with it yet (it is still in its initial charging state) and I have a few questions in using it with both my raptor and my Blade CP pro.
I looked at the freq. on the blade cp pro and it is not the exact same as my transmitter (my TX is 72 channel 12).
First, is it possible to use this transmitter for my Blade CP pro and second if it is do I have to get a freq. synth for my transmitter so I can match my Blade??? If so, this is kind of a pain for switching between heli's...
Umm, anyone have any input? :arggg:

Just get a Futaba "Short" crystal for a Receiver on the same channel as your radio, put it in the Heli Receiver, all should be good.

Ahh, i didn't even thing about changing the crystal on the CPP receiver.
With fear of sounding ignorant, how excatly do I change out the crystal on the CPP receiver and where can I find a different crystal (i.e. would heliproz carry it)

As for the Raptor http://www.raptortechnique.com should have all the info you need on setting up that radio for a raptor.
Heliproz, Tower Hobbies, Ricks all should carry crystals.

Thanks BarracudaHockey, for that link!
My raptor is in the build process, I have everything but the servos, gyro, and motor installed...I am getting the motor friday and I just got my radio and servos in the mail yesterday.
What did you use to cut out the plastic canopy? The plastic is hard and thick and my dremal (christmas gift) is crap...it bogs down and cant even cut through the plastic!
Would the synth TX module for the 9C super be easier to use than the crystal for the Blade CP pro?
Thank you again guys for all the help!!! This site is really great so far!

The crystal is plug and play. It'll run ya 10-12 bucks from tower. Just make sureit's the "shorty" single conversion on the same channel as the Tx module on your 9C.
The only thing you need to do to get the 9C talking to the CP is change the modulation from PCM to PPM. (It's under the PARAMETER menu) You will need to program the radio as well. I posted my current BCP settings for my 9C a couple months ago. Search this forum for them. They'll get you in the ballpark, but you'll need to tweak them to fit your mechanical and electrical setup. (MY CP is pretty far from stock at this point)
I use my 9C for my BCP, a Raptor 50, A Trex 450, a Trex 600, 2 foamies, a Hyperion Yak 55 and a Hyperion P-51 Mustang - all on the same channel.

That radio will make the CP SOOOOO much easier to fly since you can dial in much better pitch/throttle curves. I fly mine in my living room from time to time. No way I would have even tried that with the stock Tx... A BL motor and headspeed around 2100 RPM make it pretty stable (for what it is).
