Anybody ever have there gyro come loose in flight.... I did, I was up about 20 ft. givin it all I could when I noticed the tail starting to go crazy, I flipped the throttle hold and autoed it down safely, thank God....! I checked it over and found that my gyro mounting tape had seperated and the gyro was just flopping around...when I say seperated the tape split in half, one half was on the gyro and the other half was still on the mounting block, anybody ever have this happen......?

Yea, but I was not nearly as lucky, mine came off and went down badly. Had full control of the heli, but no tail control.....$180.00 in damage.
I have sense then got some cellular antenna mount tape from my buddy that installs electronics in cars and this stuff is there for life...you better make sure that you have it where you want it, because it is not coming off.

sorry to hear about your incident. glad you got it down in one piece.
were you using the futaba tape that came with the gyro? if so that is know to have issues.
next time we hook up, remind me and I;ll give you some good tape.

The Futaba tape is well documented to have this issue of splitting in half.
My first choice in gyro tape is the Zeal green goo tape available from Kyosho, Last time I checked Bergen was stocking it.
My second choice is the Gray with a red backing 3M automotive mounting tape available from many auto parts stores and hardware stores. This is one of those tapes that you need to make sure that where you are sticking it is really where you want it.
