If you were/are an Amateur Radio operator, what radio would you get and what band frequencies would you use?

I'm wanting to buy a radio after several months on the G3 simulator. Looking at a Futaba 9C, but have no idea as to what frequencies would/could benefit me from being a Ham. I've been a Ham op for almost twenty years, but never paid much attention to the privileges I have for RC.

Thanks in advance.

I used 08 ( 50.96) with the 9Z. Now I have the 12Z on 50 mhz. So I can use any of the 50 mhz band freqs. I pretty much still use 08 just out of habit. Plus when at an event with other ham band users. They know what freq I am using.
9C has 50 mhz freqs. You just have to order it on the frequency you want.

I have a couple modules for Futaba on 08. Also some 149 DP receivers on 08. Will make you deal on a set.
