Hi everybody,
i am flying the Lepton with Hirobo motor and esc.
When i switch to idle up 1 yesterday, i stripped the maingear.
Here is my question:
How can i programm a delay for the throttle channel on my Futaba 9ZHP ?
Thank you in advance
Thomas

What ESC are you using? Do you run it in governor mode?

Hi,
i am using the complete set from HIROBO, witch comes with Motor, ESC, Battery (5S) and charger.
I did not change anything in the setup of the ESC.
I don't even know, how to program the ESC.
I did some flights with a standard normal throttle curve in normal mode.
Than i programmed the 3D curve in IDLE1 (not that i can fly 3D) to get some more HS.
Than i set down the heli and switched to IDL1 and the main gear was gone.
As my 9ZHP is also new, i am not very used to programming that radio.

how does this idle 1 curve look like ? I assume you spool it up in normal to hovering speed, and then you switch, right ? Otherwise from 0-80% or so in 1 sec never normally happens, and hovering point (usually 3/4 stick) it should have same pitch and similar speed.

You probably need to program your esc with a soft start.

Thank you for the fast reply,
i think i know what i did wrong :arggg:
I switched to IDLE1 with the stopped main rotor.
I thought, the soft start would start up the motor smooth enough.
In fact, i don't know how to program the ESC from Hirobo.
Maybe somebody can help me with that.
For the time being, i will switch to IDLE1 only, when the rotor has been spooled up in normal mode, as XIRCOM said.
Anyway, i will have to wait for the new main gear.
Thank you again for the help
Greetings from Dubai

I think I'd spool up anyway always in normal mode (and down as well), just as habit - I do this even I have the Jazz ESC, which has super-smooth soft start, you probably also have lower pitch settings in idle compared to normal mode, which makes the spool up even more easy for the motor, as it does not press the heli into the ground, and as the hirobo ESC has gov you will then have a flat line in idle at high percentage to switch into with no problems.
