From my understanding, each antenna picks up a signal on a different plain.

To better explain what I mean, think of a circle with two lines through it. one line being on the horizontal and the other vertical.

One antenna reads the horizontal line, the other reads the vertical.

At least that's how the AR7000 Rx works.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

AR6000

Actually contains two separate receivers. Each has it's own monopole (one wire) antenna. The two are oriented at 90deg for maximum spatial/polarisation diversity (ie to improve the chance of good reception)

AR6100
=====
Contains a single receiver with a dipole (two wire) antenna. These must be kept inline with each other.

AR7000
=====
Two individual receivers interconnected. Each has a dipole antenna. The two Rx should be oriented to have their antennae at 90deg to each other for maximum diverstity.
