Got one T-REX 100 from my friend who used to play 450 & 500

Old Solo Pro & T-100

The canopy was broken when I got it. After few flight, it's getting more and more craps.

The Solo Pro's canopy fits into T-REX 100 perfectly and is much stronger and cheaper

Did the T-Rex 100 canopy come new out-of-the-box damaged like that, or was it due to crash damage?

LOL! Of course the SP's canopy fits the T100 - It's practically a carbon copy...

I think the more interesting story here is that someone bought a T100, and in an obviously very short amount of time, thrashed it and decided it was crappy enough to give away.

I think this thread is of the VERY FIRST secondhand T100 - the first of many, to be sure...:rolling

Solo Pro is also less expensive.

My friend crashed it more than 10 times in 2 days, plus his kid's attack.

He was flying 450 & 500 class heli, was not used to fly micor helis.

That's why he sell this to me.

It's new out-of-the box.

My friend was flying 450 & 500 class helis, and was not used to play micro helis.

He crashed it dozens times in just 2 days, plus his kid's attack

This is the cause of the damage.

Not giving away, he sold it to me with some discount.

Cute kitten in your avatar sj1940. My 6 year old cat is similar except for a crooked mustache across the nose and mouth and half a beard.

So which helicopter came first?

This kitten was one of my midways. ;)
(Not sure if this is the right word, taking care of stray cat, and find them a good family)

I've been played Solo Pro for several months, the T-100 is surely the new comer.

Hi. Just wondering if you can compare the T100 & Solo Pro. Reason is I was thinking of getting a Solo Pro as my 'next step' heli, but the T100 is only a few dollars more here in New Zealand (unless I import one from Hong Kong, and have zero backup..). Just wondering if its worth the extra cash, or am I just buying a classier name? Oh, and both are cheaper than the MSR, so don't go there with that suggestion!

Many thanks.

In my area, Solo Pro's price ($66) ) is roughly about 2/3 of the T-100 ($100)

IMHO, does the T-100 worth the additional cost, yes.
But talking about the C/P, I think Solo Pro wins.

If you are new to this class of heli, I suggest the most important issue to consider is the avaliblity of spare parts, maybe.

My little comparison of both helis weakness:
For Solo Pro
1. The control board, the servo sometimes get stucked, you have to go into engineering mode from the remote control to fix it. Sometimes, it just doesn't work, and you have to buy one new board.
2. The tail blade's loosing, but can be fixed using screw glue or CA
3. The poor main shaft, you can change it with 3rd party aluminam one, or DIY one using carbon boom.
4. The ball on the swash plate is plastic and really easy to be broken, if you wannna adjust the push rod, after few times of pull & push, the ball is definitely to break, then you have to change a new swashplate. Luckily, I found some 3rd provider has build a metal swashplate recently, am considering to get one.

For T-100
1. The canopy is much weak than Solo Pro. I had Solo Pro for several months, with no crack on canopy.
The T-100, the canopy is broken in just few crash. But you can sticky with tapes.
2. The very weak landing skid. 2 legs of 4 are broken of mine. I fix it with CA and shrink tube. But the shape can't be fixed, so it's crippled now.
3. The battery is easily fell out from slot. It's designed to be this. The good is that when newbies crash, the battery fell out, with no more power input, result in less damage to bodies.
The bad is, you have to find out where the god damn battery is.
And if you spin too fast or have fierce move, there is great chance for battery to fell out ,too.
So the heli will talk to the batt, "You jump, I jump" :YeaBaby:

For the 2. and 3., I'm planing to change it with Solo Pro's landing slid, and solder a wire to use MSR's batt.

Thanks for the reply. Answered a few questions. Looks like the Align could still be in the running, wearing a solo pro canopy and skids!

Do the Solo batteries work on the T100?

Does the SP Tx work with a sim like the Align one?
