Just bought a dx6 and waiting to receive it, I plan to use it on a sim first for a little bit. What I am wondering is will it work without the transmitter being on?(I assume not) as well as can I power the tx with the power adapter instead of using it off the battery?
Thanks

when you plug your cable into the back of the tx it will turn itself "on", be sure to leave the switch in the off position, it will be running, but without using the additional power to the rf module so the battery will last way longer than when you are using it to fly....also I cannot say that I reccomend running the tx with it plugged in to charge....It is a charger, and just that, not a power cable for your tx, also with where the charge lead plugs in you would probably find it in the way anyhow.....I dont see why this would be an issue unless you are trying to have some mega-hour sim marathon anyway....just charge your tx for the night whenever you are done using it and it will be ready to go next time you need it.

If you havent allready got a sim the FS1 Sim from Horizon has a usb interlink that allows you to use the Dx without wires. Will have to turn on the Tx but you can stand or sit anywhere in the room & fly with out being "tied" to the computor.
