Hey Robl, I have the CX2 and the Helimax EZ, I like the 2.4ghz in the CX2, but the helimax has more action, is cheaper and the blades fold up when you hit something. The CX2 blades are really fragile. The EZ fly is kinda rough tho. THe E-flite is really well made and smooth. They both hover the same, but like I said, the helimax has more action.
hope this helps.

been considering a CX2 ever since i saw the video of it; looks so much easier to handle compared to the honeybee cp2 (which is still controlling me instead :arggg: )
anyone from hawaii knows of friendly hobby shop that sells the cx2?
Shot you a PM.

DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHY MY CX2 SPIN AROUND THE FLOOR
YET NOT LIFT UP??
It could be any of a number of a problems: 4-in-1 trim problem, a bad motor, a bent/binding shaft, etc. Give us a more detailed description of what your CX2 is doing and we'll go from there.

Switch the motor plugs around. Sounds like you might have them reversed.

What direction are the bottom blades turning? On the bottom blades is the thicker edge of the blade in front as it spins?
The bottom blades should turn clockwise (viewed from the top) with the leading edge (the thicker edge) in the "front". The top blades should be opposite, meaning they turn counter clockwise and the leading edge is in "front" with the front being the side that's in the direction of rotation.

Oasis is the red light in the Reciever on? sounds like a low battery. If the battery is freshly charged do both blades spin fast? if you move the left stick (on a mode 2 where left is throttle/rudder) to the left and give throttle one blade should spin, move it right and the other should spin. Check that both blades spin as expected and that in both cases you feel the air blowing down.
Let me know on the battery. Anytime the Red light in the Reciever comes on you'll want to land immediately, let the battery cool off to room temperature, then charge it fully.

The problem is solved. The 2 screws hold the inner shaft in the bottom of the CX2 was loose.
Thank you, all.

yippie! stock finally in and i managed to get one :D
its sooo sooo much more fun to train on orientation then my cp2; can even do free hands

robl,
I too have a Trex 450 and a recently bought a cx for indoors. Neither the cx or cx2 will tear up your furniture. They're really tame compared to the Trex.
There are two things I'd like to add.
1) It's not just about "practice". We fly these things because they defy gravity. I give a big "so what" to those that say the cx2 is too stable. It still defies gravity and can land on stoves, pool tables, and chairs. It's just damn fun. We flew it two weeks ago over lunch in a conference room at work and two of my co-workers went out and bought one.
2) It will help with orientation. The cyclic is identical to any other heli and it WILL teach you. If you're trying to learn orientation, the only thing to avoid is the temptation to let go of the cyclic and let it stabilize on it's own. Stay on it and pretend it's not capable of self recovery (like the Trex) and they're pretty much identical (well..except for the fact that a cx2 won't lean past about 20 degrees and gives you time to think).
I'm on vacation this weekend and old my wife an hour ago that I should have brought it with me. Nice big hotel room and nothing airborn....that's just wrong.
