I'm not a pro in flying, but this is what the dragonus can do... no pitch up tendency during high speed fwd flt, full and precise control over wide range of manuvere...

Funny, I couldn't find the address they listed and then I emailed them to ask if I could stop by to buy spares for my Elite and they replied back that they were not open to the public :dontknow

I ordered a dragonus head for my HOSS(one on order) from Hong Kong, was hoping I could get parts for it in the U.S. when I found them, to bad.

g190,blue bird380mg,ff66xhs,ripmax 25a spd control, any good for dragonus?

No not really... The dragonus requires the same quality electronis the Trex SE uses. Dont skimp on your electronics or you wont be very happy with the heli.

thx finless, good videos for dragonus build by the way. what do you recommend electronics wise?

Well...... I gotta say the new Align XL motor is HARD to beat! I dont have one in mine yet because the dragonus is lighter than a Trex SE and thus is flying well with the RC-Tek motor in it BUT I will probably put the 430XL in it at some point.

HELP! do you (or anyone else for that matter) know how to change the polarity of the swash plate on the 6xhs futaba radio? All other functions working fine but when i want positive pitch I get negative.

Go to the swash menu and change the Pitch from + to - or - to +, ie from whatever it is now to the other. Set the same number, ie -60 to +60.

Thanks for that, working fine now. Almost ready for the first crash!

Just wondering what type of lipo I should get for my dragonus.Thinking about align 35a esc and align 430l/xl for the motor. Not only that but what c rating should I go for, any ideas from the dragonus posse?

Anything above 16C should be fine, I'm using old TP 2100 16C lipos and they are still going strong :)

Here is a shot of my Dragonus SA. This has the RCer 3600kv brushless outrunner with a 40a esc, the battery is a 3s 15c lipo, the gyro is an EF Heading Lock gyro with remote gain and the ability to use digital or analog servos....well shall see. Swash servos are Hitec HS56s and the tail is a Hitec HS65mg
I am using a DX7 with the AR7000 rx. I have a few small things left to accomplish before its maiden flight this weekend. This is my forth rc helicopter but my first build and I must say that I enjoyed it. I have learned about proper setup of the ccpm head and now I am going to take my CP Pro and redo its head as I noticed that it is way out of whack.

PS - The Chinese Dragon in the picture was not fully laid down yet, so if you zoom in you will see the edges still sticking up.

Are the videos all completed or are you planning on a final motor, esc and comment video to sum it up?
Thanks
OK Here are the Dragonus Videos.
I would like to thank Scott Booth from RC-Tek for supporting these even though they do nothing for him business wise. Scott and I agreed it would be best to support customers even though the manufacturer will benefit from these in the long run and RC-Tek will gain nothing other than letting customers know how much they think about support!
My personal opinion is I support Scott for thinking about customers and I say "Shame on you RCer" for how you do business. While I think this is a good heli RCer has done nothing for customers! I want to remind everyone RC-Tek supplied the kit and supported me doing these videos NOT the manufacturer!
Anyway, thanks Scott for seeing how these help customers of yours and I think we will see that in the long run you will do well! I cant wait to work with you again!
So after all that said, here we go:

I found a NEAT way to setup the head easily! I hope this helps as this can be a tricky head to setup correctly!

OK I made a battery plate to mount the pack like a TrexSE. I also show how I mounted the elctronics and I mounted my 9650 using Trex parts.

I have a seeminly dumb question about main rotors. how tight are the retaining screws supposed to be?. should they be tight enough to lock the blade straight, or loose enough so that they can self center when the motor spins up?. I have a dragon fly #4-5 doesnt seem any different either way. but I am trying to build a t-rex 450se and I don't want to mess it up right off.
Finless

Yes you want them to be able to spin out and align. You will never be able to get them perfect by hand. BUT you also want the grips tight. On big helis you tigthen them up until the just barely fall on thier own weight when the head is tipped sideways. In fact I would go a little tighter than that.
BUT on small electrics like this you actually want them tighter than this. It'sa hard to explain in a post how tight that is but they DONT fall on thier own weight.

thanks , they don't seem to specify that in the books. I guess it is something we should just know. so on my align trex they should not fall on their own weight. but should be able to self center.
the dragonfly I have they are real thin light blades. so I guess they should fall?.
thanks a bunch for all the vids on how to set up the 450se. I would be lost with out them.

Hey Fineless, Could you list the pitch and Throttle points you are using for the normal mode on your Dragonus. Also list the 3d set up as well. Just want to make sure my points are where thye need to be.
Thanks.
Finless

Pitch is linear.
Throttle curves are just like my TRrex
N = 0,60, 85, 90, 100
Idle up is 100% flat.
