For those of you flying 90-size Bergen ships, what do YOU use for power?

Do yourself a favor and get a YS. Ask Alderman

Oh, I've always favored YS engines in my planes...I'm just asking around to see how many are using what.

I think it boils down to "if you need every drop of power" go OS. If you want "constancy and easy starting" go YS.

I was running YS in mine...Mal runs OS...although I think she is back to an older C-spec and not the new SZ...but I could be wrong...
I tried the SZ-pumped...never could get it to run smoothly in the Magnum...put the YS back in and it was smooth as silk...don't know why...maybe I had one of those SZ that just didn't want to run smoothly...
now my motor of choice is the Actro 32-3! :D

Hi!
I'm brand new to the Bergen forum but have had a Bergen Intrepid 90 kit since the summer, slowly plugging away on collecting stuff as I go along. As it happens, tonight I found out the OS 91 SZ-H with pump and regulator fouls up on the side of the frame- so it looks like I may have to go with another choice. (The regulator hits the side of the frame right where the fuel tubing connector goes. ) Any body else run into the same problem? Looks like the YS may be a better choice for me.
Am I missing something? Can the regulator be rotated out of the way? (doesn't look like it to me)

Chris may shoot me for saying this, but if there is only a small amount of interference, you could just grind a little away from the frame so that you have enough clearance for the nipple. If it's more than a little you run the risk of affecting the integrity of the frame.
As for my favorite power plant: Zenoah G26. :glasses2:

Yes, I had to grind a little groove in the frame for the fuel nipple...I also found you can get a little more room by slightly turning the carb in case a little...
Hope this helps...I can't show you any pictures as I don't have that engine anymore...
