the AMA has a special; if you join you get either an airtronics or jr buddy box for shipping ($7.95).

but will either work with the futaba radio?

any better option?

Nope JR or Airtronics will not work as a buddy box with Futaba and vice versa.

Also I believe that offer is only to people that have never been an AMA member.

just joined last year, and they said they would do it for me.

but whats the point if it wont work.....

Well I would guess the point is that Airtronics and Horizon (JR) have probably made a deal with the AMA. I would guess they think by selling a buddy box just for the cost of shipping, that they will get newbies to buy ATX or JR radios. Seems like a good marketing plan for them.
