i bought mine from hangtime hobbies http://www.hangtimes.com/txpacks.html

they had all kinds of cells sizes; i got the largest they had; 2700 mah

now it lasts all day!

ps you need a new charger, but they have that for about $18

sure, but for $18 you can charge the battery inside the transmitter and not have to go to the trouble of taking it out!

has the futaba connector on it (as well as jr etc.)

If you get a new tx battery and it is nimh. Make sure you cycle the battery several times before you install it in the radio . You need to cycle any nimh battery till it will reach its rated capacity. If it is a 2700 mah nimh battery and you don't cycle it when you first get it. It will not reach its rated capacity, so you will have a 2700 mah battery that might still only have 800 mah capacity.

I always suggest taking the battery out of the transmitter to charge it. Seen a couple of destroyed transmitters over the years from the battery exploding while on charge in the transmitter. Yes it is trouble to take it out and charge it. But got to decide if it is worth the risk.

TrexKris, I bought a TX battery from NOBS Batteries. They offer one specifically for the Futaba 9CHPS. They also give some excellent instructions on 'conditioning' it and how to maintain it to get the most from the battery. It is a 2700 NiMH. They also recommend that you take the battery out of your transmitter. They specialize in batteries. Check out their website.

I've also got the 2700mah NiMh from Hangtime/NOBS in my 9CHP. Took about a week to get the initial cycles done, but now it lasts a good 10-12 hours EASY..

I usually pull the battery and charge it on my Triton, but have plugged the wall-wart into the Tx for a few hours to get a charge on it when I've been away from the Triton.
