I noticed that when I'm hovering the full throttle red light ia always on even at about 75. I can add more power but it wont hover unless the red light is on. Is that normal?

Was thinking of getting a heading lock gyro from E-flight. Is it worth the $85. To be honest I've only had my CPP for less than a week and I dont even know what they do besides what the manual says.

I can hover all day (as long as my three batteries are charged) Forward, backwards and side to side flight is a breeze but, when the nose is towards me I panic. Any advice?

DEEP6PAK IS RIGHT! Practicing on a sim is the way to go unless you feel like spending all your money on blades on rotor head parts. All you have to do is hit the reset button. Ive been using the great planes real flight sim- its helped alot. I totaled up all the money that I had spent on the cpp since I bought it and I was stunned at the amount! I could have bought 2 more cpp's for the amount.

Buzzkill, I'm a n00b around here as well, but even in my short timeline of Blade CP Pro ownership I've found a multitude of online resources to get you flying and maintaining that helo to a "T".

It is perfectly normal for the light on the "4-in-1" to flash rapidly between red/green during flight or hover. When it goes to more of a solid red, it simply means that it is outputting maximum current. Check out www.bladecprepair.com for all the details and excellent information on maintaining, tuning and of course fixing the Blade CP.

Not sure on the heading lock; if you're not used to tinkering with the helo, you may wish to stay away from it for now. If you're noticing that the tail rotor is not at all stable, you can adjust the tuning on the remote, or alternatively adjust one of the pots on the "4-in-1". Again, this can be found on the Blade CP repair website. You will also notice that prior to liftoff that tail rotor behavor will be different than when it is in flight. Therefore, make sure any adjustments you make that they are tested with the thing in the air. In my opinion, it is better to get used to flying the helo without it at first; it will help develop better control skills. Keep in mind though, some movement is normal and you'll just have to counter it on the controls.

Heheh, the nose forward eh? My first nose forward at 5ft. ended up with the helo upside down; Blade CP = 0, driveway = 1. I smushed up the main rotor blades and the main drive shaft. Heheh, I've paid a visit to that repair site a number of times now

After that incident, I dediced I was trying to take things too fast. One resource that was very useful in explaining the steps towards reliable hovering was here at Radd's school of Rotary Flight www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html

It's a bit korny on its description in demanding that the reader take little steps, but IT'S TRUE!!! This web site told me to take my time and the rewards will come. The key info I found was the discipline it teaches you in forward facing hover and the important of keeping that tail at the 6 o'clock position for initial practice purposes.

But, beyond that Deep6pak is correct. I downloaded FMS here at:
www.n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html

I also made a cable for the remote, details for which can be found here: www.urbanastronomer.com/bladecp/cable/ I also found a Blade CP model for it!

I made it with the resitors as suggested; with a little tinkering with my sound settings, and the channels, it now works perfectly and is giving me the experience I need in controlling and flying the helo in any orientation. If you decide to go the cable route and have any issues, feel free to ask.

I spent several hrs on my buddys sim, now I can hover my Trex almost perfectly... I intend on spending some more hrs on the sim before attempting nose in, ch47dfe is right, I too spent more on repair parts the first month, than what a sim would have cost. My buddy has the great planes version which works well, however you need a good computer to get it to run.

Buzz, regarding the Eflite gyro-don't bother! At this stage you don't need it and IMO the stocker works just as well, which is why I returned mine.
Also for nose in try to remember to move the stick in the direction of the bird's movement. In other words if it moves to your right, move the stick to the right.
Just keeping that in mind helps A LOT!
Don't worry about it too much, with enough sim and stick time you'll get it!

I somehow fried the tail motor so I replaced the main motor also. Made a world of difference.
