I picked up a Honeybee King as a heli to start learning on. The issues I am having are:

1) tail heavy: was very tail heavy with the stock 3S Lipo and stock motor.
2) Won't even lift off at full pitch, full throttle.

My current setup:
Motor : 4150 kv Brushless(originally designed for Hummingbird 3d pro), 20mm dia
ESC: Century Electron 12/18 or Phoenix 25
Pinion: 9T or 10T
Battery: 2S 1350 Lipo, 3S 1000 Lipo, or 9.6V 750mAh NiMh
Rx: HDX 610 ultralight
Blades: JCS Blade CP plastiblades

Heli weight with 3S Lipo 450gm (with training gear)
Heli weight with 9.6V NiMh 500gm (with training gear)

I know a lot of people would jump on the blades as being the culprit as they are 20mm shorter. My thoughts is that a Blade CP looks like it can do a +2g lift off from ground so it should be able to generate around 600+ gms of thrust (lift). My bird is lighter than that and should be able to fly at least (no 3D moves).

I want to use the plastic blades as they are much more durable. The wood ones break to easily on minor interfaces with the ground.

I would like to know just how much lift does a Blade CP generate? What is the amp draw for a Blade CP at hover? Does anyone else have any issues with the HB King?

I found with my king that if the pitch isnt set right "to much pitch" befor it spools up it wont lift off the pitch needs to be gradgual . My bird was pitching 14 degrees after i upgraded the head " at full throttle" and it wouldnt lift off till it was set properly.
