JimJam,

I assume you have seen this post. http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=24751

A couple of work arounds we did for fitting the 600 into those bodies was:
1.) Mount the mechanics as high as possible in the fuse. App. 1 1/4" blocks were used as mounts. I don't have the exact numbers with me but it was the same for both bodies.
2.)9550 Servo's were used to reduce the width of the mechanics.
3.) A single push rod from servo's to the bell crank (ail/pit), again clearance issue's
4.)Stock tail pushrod systems but the servo flipped in the mount and rotated for clearance, with a slight offset bend in the rod for exiting the fuse.
5.) Stock mainshaft on the Jet ranger.
6.) Extended mainshaft made for the 500. App. 3/4 - 1" longer. TT rods were used to extend the distance to raise the swash plate.

So far no problems/issues with either of the fuses, except you can't get the Jet Rangers, from Century, copyright infringment or something like that. But Altech/MRC does have them and they are also made by Funkey.

Here are a couple of shots of the installation, these where from early on. But this will give you a general ideal of the process I used.

I ran across some pics and post showing how a few shortened the top which give alot more distance betreen the flybar.
Looked pretty good.
Alot better than the heli would if the flybar hit
I have a dremel but want to be carefulo. Wonder what the best attachment to use to cut the fiberglass as striaght and smooth as possible?

The Sceadu has the same issue, Hirobo sells a so called "scale ring" which is mounted below the seesaw to limit flybar detection. Might be the easiest way to solve this issue. I haven't seen the TRex Head closeup yet so I don't know if it is easy to install.

That said I also need an electric mech for my Hughes so keep posting ideas
I'm also looking for pictures of the Magnum PI Hughes - hard to find anything good on the web.

Got my 500e fuse in today.
QUESTION-
Are there 2 pieces total for the windsheild?
One piece is molded with 2 pointed areas.
The other is a shallow uniform shallow bowl shaped.
I understand that they will need to be cut but just want to make sure nothing is missing as it will be a while before I actually begin construction.
BTW- I f anyone has pics of the windsheild pieces cut out but not glued in it would be helpful.
Thanks again

Jimjam

you should have 4 pieces for the windows - 2 are rectangle, upper windows, 1 small dome which is cut into two pieces that are the front bottom left and right windows. The large piece is the upper front window.

I've just completed my 500 using Trex 600 mechanics. First flight pics attached. Stock set up using 600L motor, Align blades and 4900 FP. Maxx lights all around. Very scale like.

I went to the RAAF airshow in Adelaide Yesterday and took some shots of the 500 and Longranger both with T-Rex 600 mechanics
