Can I use a futaba receiver switch and futaba receiver battery from my 9Z with the AR7000 receiver,

Yes you can, no problem.

cool, thanks for answering me so quickly - I am making the leap to 2.4.

You may need a three wire connection from battery, to switch to receiver to bind the RX to the TX. You can do it without, but you have to re-bind to set the throttle fail-safe so it ie easier to have the three wire set up. The radio kit comes with the wire harness.
