View Full Version : CPP throttle issues...I think

Hello everyone,

My CP Pro was flying without problem for a few weeks, but then I went to fly one time and the throttle didn't seem to be responding correctly.

It responds correctly until I am just barely hovering above the ground, then I can take it up to almost full throttle with no change. Once I am a few throttle clicks away from full power it jumps and makes up for all of power I had given it, but didn't respond to.

I thought it might be the radio so I checked the batteries and all of that good stuff. They were fine. Also, all the other controls seemed to be working fine. Since the radio didn't appear to be the issue I decided that it could be the battery pack. I charged up my second battery in put it in only to have the same problem as the first. I checked all the cords inside and everything is connected correctly from what I can see.

I am out of ideas, anyone have a solution or the same problem?

Problem 2 might not even be a problem, but I figured I might as well ask in one post, eh? When it was flying correctly the helicopter tilted to the right. It didn't move to the right it was just tilted a bit that way. Is that supposed to happen or is that another issue?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Could be a dirty pot on your transmitter. Take the back off the radio and spray contact cleaner into the pots liberally, let dry and retest. If that doesn't work, i would say either a bad motor or faulty 3 in 1.

I am not to good with all the terminology since I am still very new.

I assume you mean the space being the sticks as being the pot? Or do you mean the area where the batteries are in?

Thanks for the response by the way. I will try it as soon as I figure out what a pot is :p

Sounds like the classic sticky collective to me. Try searching here: http://www.rcgroups.com/micro-helis-42/

As far as the tilt, that's normal.

Good luck!

As it turns out it was not a dirty pot or sticky collective.

I tried both of your ideas before driving an hour to the hobby shop and asking. It turns out the paddles got all turned around, but the set screws were never loosened haha.

Thanks for the responses. I probably should have checked that first thing. I just didn't think paddles or blades could affect me in the way they did.
