Hey Gang,
I'm setting up my T Rex SE to practice hovering autos, and I need to set the throttle hold on the T Rex...I've followed Finless' set ups to a "T", and he doesn't really show a throttle hold value for the Align motor...Does anybody here know what value I should set on the 9303...I've got the pitch curve for the hold ok, I just can't figure out what value to use on the motor for hold in an auto....
Thanks!

Enter your radio programming and bring up the Throttle Hold menu, then set the heli on the ground and spool it up (but don't take off). Flip the HOLD switch and lower the value on the screen until the blades stop.
There isn't really a predefined value to use because it can vary depending on your travel adjustment settings, throttle curve, ESC programming, etc.
I've set it up on 3 different 'Rex's and they each had different values. But the method above is safe and pretty foolproof.

Hey Rob,
Thanks for the tip...I'll try that and see if it works... Do I need to change the ESC programming if I have it set for a soft start?
Thanks again!

Franz,
No ESC changes required. All Throttle Hold does is "lock" the throttle position at a preset value (idle for a glow engine, off for electric). It will override whatever your throttle curves are set to.
You may want to keep the soft start if you have to bail out of an auto. If you punch the stick to full collective and then switch out of hold, you'll probably strip the main gear. :WOW

IIRC the 9303 defaults to -5 for TH. Which works fine for my Trex.
The problem can be, it soft start is too soft, you can't get power fast enough to bail out.
