View Full Version : Best Electric 3d Heli for $300.00 ?
I can't see spending $800.00 on a first heli. Who is happy with Swift, CPPro, Falcon, etc. I expect to fly in winds not exceeding 15mph. Any suggestions?

Then expect to not be that happy, especially when you get a bigger nicer heli.
Bigger helis fly easier and smoother.
Pinecone does that mean you are not happy with your CP Pro?
From the number of forms that I have read I usually see that people have a few smaller electrics; than they go on to a larger nicer heli. But they still say they like flying the smaller heli. I do not see ads for sale all over the forms; I would presume that might mean they do like the smaller heli.
Does everyone still think it wise for a newbe to spend almost a grand; when all you have done is practiced on a sim? Surely out of the Swift, Align, and others there are what could be considered easy to fly and repair helis. I would hope that I could keep the learner and then eventually progress on to a 50 or 90 size.

I see LOTS of ads selling CPs and CP Pros. Not necessarily here, becaus emost people here don't fly them.
I like flying my CP more now that I fly a Trex than I did before the Trex. But the CP tends to cost more to repair after a crash than the Trex does, is harder to fly and very skittish. But between the two I will fly the Trex first and more. ANd my EP8 is the same. If I fly I fly the Trex and EP8 then if I have some time and daylight and all my other packs are charging or wiating to be charged, I pull out the Blade. Or in very bad weather, I can fly the Blade in the garage (just hovering).
If you are serious about helis, get a Trex 450 or a 30 or 50 nitro bird and really learn to fly. THEN get the smaller one if you want one.
Remember that a large part of that investment (radio, charger, maybe lipos) are useable on later helis.
With the Trex and EP8, I cna fly the same packs 2100 3S for Trex, 2100 6S (two 3S packs iwth a serial connector) in the EP8.
Search around, see the number of people that got a Blade or similar, then got a Trex and all wish they had just gotten the Trex.
Search around and see the number of people who have good flying bBlades, that have spent more on mods than if they had bought a Trex up front.
Many of us have done this, you can listen and learn, or repeat the same mistakes. It is not like we are making money off of you buying a real heli first.
