I just bought a RTF Raptor 50 v2.
Here's what it has:

MDS 48 motor
3 HS-425s
FP5128
JR 507
GY401
6V battery

Okay, aside from the RX, what else am I going to need to get this thing in the air (safely)?

Another nitro pilot helping you, a starter, and 6mm start shaft

The MDS 48 is an airplane motor how did they get it in a Raptor? :dontknow

The raptor 50 v2 in my opinion is probably the best first nitro you can get, but I would look into to upgrading some of your parts. Very few people have had anything good to say about the MDS .48 motor, seems most people have severe tuning issues, and the motor is weak on power. The HS-425's will get you through basic hovering and FF, but are a little on the weak side for really flying a 50, IMHO. GY401 is plenty to take you far into advance 3D. If the 6v batt. isn't regulated, I would worry about my gyro though. A fresh charged 6v batt. will put out close to 8v.

Voltage regulator for that 6v battery or step down voltage regulator for your gyro.

Thanks guys...
Debian, I will have loads of help soon as far as experienced guys go.
Rob, I was thinking about changing to the OS 50 motor anyway. As far as servos go, I'll probably upgrade those as well.

Just for your info, I picked this thing up for only $375. I was informed that it was a steal & shouldn't pass it up.

Thats a good deal, get a 50 hyper and if you want to be done with the servos get 9252 for cyclic and collective. You wont hurt the gyro but you dont want to send 6volts unregulated to the tail servo.

That's what I meant when I said gyro, I'm slacking lately.

Update:
Just bought the OS 50 Hyper motor & 3 JR DS821 servos.
I understand the Hyper is the best way to go as far a motor, but how does everyone think the DS821s will hold up?

Friend of mine had them in a 50, they will get you in the air but after he started aerobatics he had to replace the gears a couple times, he got tired of that and switched to 9252s and hasnt had sloppy servos since.

I'll keep that in mind.
I'm not doing any inverted flying yet. As a matter of fact, I am just now getting into FF with my TRex 450. Thanks to the help from a local guy this past weekend.
