Do most of you do your own WEB sites from scratch? Or do you hire out to get started and learn how to main tain them once up?

I hired a college kid to do mine, it came out great, he did a good job at an extremely reasonable price, he maintains it and does all the editing and changes. He did it all finding the hosting, name reg etc and I wrote the checks, I'm sure his instructor helped him but thats ok. I looked at a variety of other AP websites for inspiration.

I designed mine with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, PS and Imageready. I use Ready Hosting to host the site.

I designed mine from scratch using Dreamweaver, PS, and Flash. My photo jobs have landed me two website jobs, so I've leased my own dedicated server for hosting.

I'm not out actively looking for web work, but I've got 5 more IP addresses assigned to my server in case I come across another customer who also needs a web developer.

Excellent site Mark ...
Have you thought of using a content management system like Joomla?

Joomla? Hmmm, have to look that one up.

I started developing a database driven system of my own to be able to catogorize photos and make them searchable, but I haven't kept up with it.

I've been working on my first all Flash website for a customer. You can preview it at:

If you look under the links for "Lots for sale" and "Homes for sale" you'll see some of my aerial photos and videos I've shot for them and how I've incorporated them into the site.

I still haven't tested it with FireFox, just IE.
