I'm just curious to see how many Freaks have Mini-copters such as the Joker2. I'm sure some of you AP guys have em.
I am a team pilot for Joe Howard at Joker usa (http://www.joker-usa.com) I fly the Acrobat which is the nitro 90 size. I also fly my dads Joker 2 with the big blue Pletti. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me.
So guys lets hear it, who flys them, maybe we can drum up enough support for Will to open up a Mini-copter section :glasses2:

O.k I'm a new freak and the proud owner of a Joker2. what a great piece of kit. It has given me no problems and the build was a dream - there are probably few posts on them for that reason Littleman. Good old German engineering eh! :D

I just finished building my first Joker 2...I have to agree...it is clearly of superior quality and I loved the build...there's also plenty of help/advice available from Joe Howard @ Joker-USA, and Candler @Esprit Models...I thank them both.
I set it up as a 12S (FP 6S 4900x's 2....so I can exchange batteries with my Trex 600), Actro 32-3, Jeti Spin 99 ESC.
The heli is considerably heavier than I am used to, but when I spooled it up...WOW!!! it has enormous power. Havent flown yet because of lousy weather, but I can't wait to get it off the ground.
I always wondered why there's no Minicopter section here on Helifreak...there is on 'the other forum'.

I work for NRI and we have a number of Maxi Joker 2s set up as uavs we have yet to have any failures with any of the machines! One of the best airframes I have ever been involved with. Craig

We'll i was beginning to think that I was the only one on the freak :arggg:
Doc, the only reason it is heavy is the packs, I fell that the frame itself is really light considering all the bling. I dont know what type of flying you do, but the first time Dad let me fly his it took a week to wipe the grin off my face, high giggle factor for sure. the roll rate is beyond insane, and the crispness of the controls and overall tracking is amazing. Hopefully this post will grow into a new section

Hello littleman, I'm new helifreak. Now I fly Logo 10 with 4S. I crashed becaus of radioproblem. Very sad. I'm looking for new Heli. 2 options. 1)Joker 2. Very nice and stable bird. I wonder yhe J 2 is already few years on the market. Is the concept alreay too old. Is it maybe possible that minicopter will come with a new model in the same size of the J2 soon. So I can better waiting to buy J2. Or 2) I can better take the mini Joker. Is newer, but .50 size. I want really the big one. What do you think.
Minicopter gave recommodation for the Joker 2 Actro 24-4. On the site you'll find the recommodation for Mini joker also Actro 24-4. I do not understand. Is the 32-3 better for the jOKER 2 ? The 32 is heavire and takes more power from rhe battery, so the flying time is shorter ? Please your comments.
I'm thinking J2 to combine with Actro 24-4 or 32-2 with 10S lipo and Kontronik 55-10-32. This combination you can use also for mini Joker. What do you think for the J2 and for the mini Joker.
Thank you..................

Helimitt, my apologies for the delayed responce,
Everything depends on what your application, for sport flying or AP work the J2 with the actro is very good. For hard 3D I reccomend the big Plettenberg on 12S for the J2. I have not flown the mini yet but as far as I can tell the actro works really well, and there is a potential to go as high as 10S.
As far as a J3, as far as I know there is no such plan, but one never knows what Gerd is cooking up  If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Hello Littleman, thanks for your reactio. In the meanwhile I already bought a Joker 2 with Actro 24-4. Now I flew about 4 times with this combination. For me enough power (at this moment just 80 %).
I have a problem with this heli. When I fly nd trurn to the right with some velocity, the heli is shaking and makes terrible noise. It sems like makinh resonance. Can you give me advise ? :arggg:

Littleman, because of RR's policy of BLOCKING other site from using pictures in your gallery, you need to post the pictures HERE in youyr gallery for people to see them.
All we see is a stupid RR better connection graphic!

there are a few guys with maxi jokers in the AP section too.
I'd like to get one someday, but for now my 10s trex 600 has more than enough payload and flight time for me. one day tho...

When you say turn right, is that roll right or tail right?
My best suggestion outside of contacting Gerd directly is to check all of you belt tensions. also check for any binding in the head or tail.

The maxi Joker rules! It's a great heli, very stable and smooth . setup is really critical though on a heli this big, it's been a long process carefully balancing every moving part to eliminate vibration. nearly there now though...
Can we PLEASE have a minicopter room here on Helifreak!!!
Here is a picture of the bird..

Two Joker II's and a MiniJoker. Earlier I have owned a Maxi Joker I and a joker I. Great machines, second to none quality.

I have 3 maxi's 2 ea v2 and 1 ea v1 I was going to sell but hung on to it until I get all the little bugs and vibes worked out of the v2's. Both versions awesome machines.
My question is I like the front loading of the batts on the v1, is there any mod I can do to get rid of that front plate on the v2?
I am also testing various lipos, tanic, TP and True RC. So far True RC is winning the race and they are almost half price as both TP and tanic have had to be sent back. I'm trying to be as objective as possible, I just want a reliable high mah lipo for AP
My thoughts

What are you lucky guys using for chargers and power supplies?

I've got a flybarless, stretched MiniJoker with Helicommand Rigid, powered by two Outrage XP25 5S1P 3700 mAh packs, Jazz 55 and Tango 45-06 (governed to 75%). For chargers I am using two TP 2010-C's. The machine is absolutely awesome and the packs are great!
