First I have to say sorry if this isn't the place I should be posting questions. I just logged in my first time and need help.

I have been flying the flight simulator for a bit now and thought today would be a good day to try my CP Pro for the first time. I was wrong!!!!!

Didn't think it was going to be so much different. When I tried to take off the heli wanted to tip (to the right) right away. Not sure why. Could it be because of the wind? Is there some setup that I should of done?

And since I am asking questions. Does anyone know were I can get some parts upgrades. I seem to need a few now!!!!!!

A friend of mine told me about the site and that I would be able to get help. Hope he is right.

Thanks for anyone who can pass on any info.

My minds eye says, your going to need a feathering shaft, new blades and blade grips, mainshaft, landing gear and a chassis kit to repair if you dont use all of that now you will later. The stock BladeCP really can fly well, you don't need upgraded parts yet. If you don't have training gear get those. After assembly find a heli flyer or place others fly near you from your hobby store and try again. These little CP heli's come apart real quick. I speak from 1st hand wallet thining.... lol 1 year later and im a bit better. In you simm setup some wind 5-10kph will give you some troubles for free.

stick with it

Looks like the right place, there are at LEAST three places you could have posted this (probably 3). Section that's specific to your heli (which is apparently where you posted), Section that's specific to new folks, and last the section for general heli related posts.

The CPP is one of the harder birds to learn on. With patience you can do it. Are you using RADD? http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html RADD will get your crashes down and costs down.

That's called Ground Effect. It clears up once you're off the ground above your blade diameter or so.

I shop at www.readyheli.com . I don't know what they carry for the CP/CPP so you'll want to check that out. I'm sure someone will post sites that carry CP/CPP hopups..

Just take your time and don't get discouraged. RADD will help you get the most out of your Heli without breaking it. Slow and Steady... YOU CAN DO IT!! :)

Jermo is right. With a little experience you should be able to correct for ground effect upon taking off. But don't just go and push the power to get it above the effect just yet.

If you follow Radd's school of flight, it highly recommends that you first burn off a few batteries with the helo just barely coming off the skids but with the training gear attached. You'll quickly get used to the exercise of keeping control of that tail, and any left/right motion you detect.

To admit, at first I basically did what you did at starting off. Once I got past the stage of lifting the skids, I spent quite a bit of time hovering at about 12" and keeping the helo in ground effect. It was challenging, but a safe altitude in case I began to loose control. Also, for the first number of hovers like this, keep the tail at the 6 o'clock position.

I'm now working on the sim, but only to get used to the thing flying towards me!

So far, I've gone through two sets of rotor blades, and one main rotor shaft. Heheh, not so bad, but in both incidents I was pushing too much too fast.

I aggree with the others completely...

One other thing I'd add is another thing that *could* cause an issue is your heli's/transmitter's trim.

If you follow RADD's teachings, you'll be able to see/feel what a properly trimmed heli *should* do, and if yours is still misbehaving, that could help narrow it down.

Yep, RADD's for sure...take your time, it will come to you.
Here are the places I've shopped for parts for my CPP:
www.horizonhobby.com
www.helihobby.com
I have not bought anything from www.helidirect.com yet, but many others have with good experiences.
Good Luck,
Ed :D

It is true, RADD's instructions are worth printing and following closely ( I know I did). I thought I read you crashed the heli and it broke apart... I'm sorry if I misread your entry. I myself ran my CPP for 2 min events just in an attempt to keep it in one place, I would take a break reread RADD's instruction and try again. I use www.HeliDirect.com for most of my parts. The other places listed are great as well. Have fun

Did anyone mention to check the heli setup?

Make sure swach is level, paddles are level, check blade pitch & tracking...

Wow...A big thanks goes out to all that have given up some info.

Once I get the parts to replace everything that is broken I will double check the setup.

It seemed really odd how it would tip to the right at half throttle.

Thanks Again

Heli's tend to do that, it's called ground effect.
