Hello,
I guess I'm not the only one making this mod, so for those that did not have the time yet to do so, I attached a picture.
Problem:
As per the manual, the tail-linkage-rod from the tail-servo-horn to the lever sitting in the side-frame, the 2 steal-linkage-balls on the lever are mounted on the upper side of the lever .. as a consequence, the tail-linkage from the tail-servo to the lever in the frames is very close (to close) to the main gear, when tail-inputs are made ..
Modification:
1.) Mount the linkage-steal-ball on the tail-lever (in the side-frame) on the bottom instead on the top of the lever's side (I use CA to fix the Steal-ball on the plastic-lever) .. installing the tail-linkage (inbetween tail-lever and tail-servo-horn) your tail-linkage now won't be horizontally anymore, then having a slow increasing slope from the left to the right ..
2.) Put the tail-lever rectangular to the side frame and as the tail-linkage not being horizontally anymore, you need to find a tail-servo-horn position (on the servo) where the tail-linkage is rectangular to the servo-arm itself .. (no differentiated tail servo output) ..
3.) Check your tail limit again .. travel of tail-pitch-slider on the tail-shaft for maximal range w/o mechanically binding ..
Some people (ALIGN guys ) use this mod to criticise this as of being a proof, how weak and poor the design of the Aeolus 50 3D is :rolling .. pretty funny, as this mod easely corrects everything and at least the Aeolus has some well sized tail-linkage being pretty stiff when compared to Align's T-Rex600 2mm steal-rod design (to weak and oscillating) ..
Best Regards,
Oliver
