Trying to setup my DX8 with the settings from the mCP X manual and cannot get my ATV data in.

I go into the Swashplate menu and the cursor won't move from the corner and the screen says "Inhibit". If I try to select "Inhibit" nothing happens, if I hit the roller button it goes back to the menu.

How do I get rid of "Inhibit" and get to the options for setting values?

I have been flying the heli with swash on "Inhibit" and it seems to go alright but I'm a newbie and it has only been hovering or crashing. It pissess me off not being able to access the right travel adjustment options.

I'm wondering if I have done something in my other setup settings that has affected the swashplate menu to cause "Inhibit" to be the only choice.

Any help appreciated. Will keep flying as it is until I work it out.

Cheers Kiley

By the way, this is a great little heli, a fantastic learning tool.

Servo Setup adjusts the servo reverse, travel adjust, sub-trim and servo speed for
all eight channels.

Servo Setup screens feature a servo monitor that allows easy
visual reference when making adjustments.

Travel Adjust - Allows the adjustment of servo throw/travel in each direction
Sub-trim - Typically used to center the servo position
Reverse - Changes the direction of the servo/channel
Speed - Adjusts individual servo speed

To Access the Travel Function

With the transmitter on and the main or telemetry screen up, press the roller. The
Function list displays. Rotate the roller to highlight Servo Setup then press. Servo
travel will automatically be highlighted.

Press to enter the Travel function.

Highlight the channel then press the roller.

Rotate the roller to access the channel you wish to adjust then press to accept.

Highlight the values at the bottom of the screen.

When you center the corresponding stick both values are highlighted and will adjust simultaneously.

Moving the stick or switch in the desired position adjusts that direction of travel
independently.

With the desired value(s) highlighted, rotate the roller to adjust the
travel for the selected channel.

Then press to accept.

What is swashplate expo for and how do I adjust it's values or is it only inhibit or active? Also what is pitch expo for and how do I adjust the values for that too or is it also an either active or inhibit option only?

Um, I have a question,
I thought I read that the swashplate mixing is done on the mcpx controller?
so it should be inhibited?

I just downloaded the spm file off the dx8 community, and loaded it on my dx8
but I don't ever mess with the swashplate values

i would guess it depends on how you like to fly , for me im not banging the sticks around and just enjoy flying , but everyone has there own way of doing something and im just offering my advice , weather its used or not its up to that person , but for the dx8 here is the recommend settings

There's no need to go into that menu on this heli.
Swash mixing is not used. Leave it set to INH.

Why does everyone feel the need to screw with this menu? Even on helis like the mSR...

I'm pretty sure that when selecting "1 Servo Normal" as swash type, this is what brings on the INH and it can't be turned off as there is no mix ratio required for this swash type
