well... thx.

I don't mean to come across as harsh, but I have seen smoother. I REALLY REALLY like the front mount design though. VERY nice!

Great news story, and great use for our type of AP.

From what happened yesterday, and from what I can tell, these people are also grounded now?

Or since they are research, they can get away with filling out a COA?

honestly I think many are misinterpreting the FAA's statement.

As I and my local FSDO interpret it they are cracking down larger commercial UAV companies who are trying to make the model airplane AC fit their purposes and not the folks like us.

I'm not sure, but from that video it seems like he's piloting through a secondary cam, not via line of sight to the heli? seems kinda silly, but the heli is sweet. the flying is a big jiggly, to say the least.

I also noticed the cameraman was using a pair of "Eyetops" for operating the camera. They need a Mobil Monitor!

They mentioned the pilot also flying by FPV, although I couldn't tell if he was using Eyetops or not. I've flown my rigs using my CV-1's, and although I've parked my heli's up high and then focused on the image in the CV-1's to compose the image and tweaked the heli's position based on what I'm seeing from the camera, I would not want to soley rely on this image to fly the helicopter as FPV. Challenging to say the least!

Get out there and show them how it's done, DJ! Your Logo 10 flys smoother...in your hands. I think they are flying a modified Logo 20 if I remember reading about it in the forums.

DJ, What does the guy at your local FSDO say...go fly???

I need to call my local guys and ask them what's up.

Great pictures, they tell alot.

First thing that sticks out; The battery pack is hung very far aft , if the zip tie breaks the battery will fall out.

It does look there is flight stabilization, you can see the FMA sensor mounted on the tail boom. I wonder if there is any problems with the GPS antenna mounted directly on top of the FMA sensor.

There is also an Eagle Tree telemerty system with GPS. Who knows what else is monitored.

Like DJ, I like that camera mount. I wonder what is being used for vibration isolation.

Other than the custom side fames and the mount, how much of the system is off the shelf?

That is a sweet looking mount and setup. How come it floats and rocks around so much. Is it not set up properly? My Logo 20 is much smoother...I think. Maybe it is because of the weight distribution so high as opposed to my underslung mount....or maybe it was windier than we thought during the video?? :dontknow
