Ok guys I'm very new at this and this is the first time setting up a heli, so all the help is appreciated.

I've got a JR XP652 tx and a R600 rx. I've read that that R600 is an airplane receiver therefore cannot work on a heli.

Does anyone have any history with this combo.

Real help needed here.

The R600 will work just fine in a heli. There are not airplane and helicopter receivers, all there are is aircraft and surface receivers.

I have seen some of your posts else where, what is it you are struggling with, radio set-up for your swash?

well I've never setup a radio before and I was told by a more experienced heli hobbyist that the R600 receiver cannot work or cannot work properly for the trex. I'm not sure if that was the conclusion because he didn't know how to set up the radio.

From what I understood, the R600 receiver would not have enough channels when using it with the GY401 gyro with the remote gain.

Can anyone verify this? I really need help here. I'm getting my DX7 in a couple weeks and I'd like to get my new heli up.

The R600 is a 6 channel RX, so I think it should work ok, but I'm very new to this also.

I have the R790 and a 9303 that definatly works with a GY401 and remote gain, but I'm only using 6 of the channels.

6 channels is fine and should be no problem

you need a channel for the following;

throttle
ESC
Pitch
Elev
Aile
Rudd
gear or Aux

and with a 6 channel RX you have just enough.

PS if you are getting a DX7 you will not need to worry about this RX as you will have a 7 channel specktrum RX to play with. :lol:

What does it say on your RX next to each channel plug hole?

next to each plug hole, it says from top to bottom:
BATT
AUX 1
GEAR
RUDD
ELEV
AILE
THRO

THROcan someone also identify which servos on the heli are aileron, rudder, elevator etc.?

rudder - back servo on the tail
Elevator - back servo of the 3 in the body
aileron and Pitch are the 2 front servos, does not matter witch is witch, but genrally bottom one on the right looking from behind is pitch

Hi

BATT = empty
AUX 1 = Pitch servo front left
GEAR = Gyro gear
RUDD = Tail / Rudd servo
ELEV = Elev back servo in body
AILE = Alie servo front right
THRO = ESC

Then you need to set your swash setting on the radio to 120 CCPM, when you connect it all up and turn on your radio check which way the servos travel and reverse channel if needed.

Then go to this link and see how Finless sets everything up http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=12455

Also I think your radio is much the same as the DX6, if it is go to this link and set it up as per the link . ( same radio that spectrum fit out with their spectrum board, setting will be the same) http://www.digimemphoto.com/guides/backguide.htm
