Hi Dave,
It should have come with paper instructions.
The motor is mounted upside down on the bottom plate using the small CF plate supplied along with the spacers. The drive-shaft assembly screws into the bottom of the motor.
Make *SURE* that the flange on the driveshaft is *perfectly* flush with the bottom of the motor.
I'll try to snap you some close ups later tonight if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
Cheers,
- Rob
btw: which gear ratio are you using? 10:1 (100T main gear) ?

They did supply a picture with the ratio kit, but it does'nt look like my motor. I got a 32-3 outrunner and I asked for the 10:1 kit. Here are some pictures;
The little CF pice and the pile of hardware are the only other things that came with the gearing kit and everything that came with the Heli kit is installed except the side CF battery plate.
Anyone else have this motor installed on their ION?
Thanks in advance,
Dave :?

I got it all installed and it looks great. I did not see in the directions where it said to remove the cover off the motor, (the silver part) so I left mine on. Is there a reason for taking this cover off? I see that you (cgbole) took yours off and I think Will's has it off also.

You do not need to remove that end cap on the motor. I did not remove mine until a few months ago after flying it 1.5 years and over 400 flights

I removed the dust cap (and wrote the instructions) mainly to facilitate being able to shoot the windings with my temp gun. I feel the motor does cool somewhat better without the cover, although it's probably a miniscule difference. Either way, it will work fine.
