For YS 80, the best gear ratio in my opinion is going to be 8.45 to 1 for sport style and 3 D flying. Also for the YS 91 8.45 will work also, you just need to keep the head speed at 1800 or below.

Parts to do a conversion towards an Extreme from an Expert will depend on if you want it have everything an Extreme would have.

Here is a list of the parts that are on the Extreme that is not on the Expert

33 inch tail boom, torque tube, tail rotor push rod. 120-60
Metal Tail rotor gear box 120-50
C clip style blade axle and larger thrust bearings in grips 120-70
Longer main shaft with third bearing block 120-80
8.45 conversion kit 119-134
8.18 conversion kit 119-130

The above is the parts you would need to make an Expert an Extreme. The gear ratio kits are for ever which ratio you prefer. I don't think I have missed anything, but the parts above will basically make it an Extreme.

There are actually other differences, though some are mearly cosmetic. Like the white strutts on the landing gear. The top bearing on the main shaft is also different. It has two bearings as opposed to one. The tail pitch slider is not the same either. It does not utilize links to attatch to the tail blade grips, but rather a bearing supported block that is attatched with screws on both ends. And it has a metal fan, which is plastic on the Expert. Hopes this helps further.

I did the conversion and it is awesome. I only recomend sell your present fury then buy an extreme. Trust me you will be far better off. The costs will be in your favor and you won't be stuck with that 61 size engine that no body wants.
