Seriously though, if you want one today; between the two your only choice is Predator because the Spectra isn't shipping yet.

If you can wait, and afford to pay a little more, the Spectra will easily pay off in parts availability and support; performance should be very similar and can go either way.

If you want to do photo work, from your two listed wait for the Spectra because of the configuration versatility.

Predator. I have not owned a Bergan, so I cannot comment on the machine itself.......

I do own xcell and vario already......but the predator goes flying while the others sit.

I have flown nearly all of the gas machines and they are all good in their own ways (nobody puts out junk). The Bergen is a top notch machine with great support, I cannot say enough for the Bergen machines. The Vario is a pricey machine that flies well, is hard to get parts for and it's support is basically up to you hunting down parts. The Predator flies well and has a good price, but frankly, my verdict is out on that one. I have worked on two of them and got them flying well for buddies but they are no longer owned by my buddies (for their own reasons).
The Spectra-G that I fly, is the most complete, versatile and high performance machine that I have owned/flown. I don't just say that because of the input I have on it's design and testing. Every possible attribute of the gasoline motor was considered and dealt with in this machine. The frame layout was designed to handle and dissipate the energy pulses of the motor. Maintenance on this machine is amazingly simple, set up is as well. The Spectra-G is not a helicopter that has been modified or re-engineered to accept a gas motor, it's entire being revolves around it. Most of all, it's performance is literally, breath taking. Not only can it "do as good as a 90?" as I always hear, it's performance in many ways surpasses the 90. This machine can simply do some things better than the 90 glow powered machine, and all on pennies per flight.

Want a second opinion, ask H to the C, he did not think much of gas machines, until now!

Hope this helps!
