I need to tap the knowledge of this forum again.
I just got the boom on with belt around the main shaft. At first, I thought something was wrong because the belt had a REAL hard time even getting on to the gear. I even took the tensioner off and the belt seemed too tight. I double checked to see if the boom was on as far as it could go on both ends. I even wondered if they sent me the wrong belt.
When I turn the main shaft, it seems like the belt tension is causing way too much friction.
So, is this just the way the belt is? I know that the belt will loosen up in time, but can I get some assurance that the belt is just stiff to start out? In previous models, I've always had the option, at least, to make the belt way too loose or way too tight, so I could find the correct medium. With this model, I feel like there is no choice, even with the tensioner at the loosest setting, it seems tight.
