Q: what happens if your tail blades are too tight?
A: when they hit anything they snap off! :arggg:

hehe..I wanted them snug so they don't swing..apparently they were a bit too tight. One hover, wind got me and I panic and hit throttle hold, I didn't keep the bird level, she came in slightly nose up/pitch right, Somehow the Vertical stab was not damaged but I lost BOTH tail blades..hehe..

maybe not so tight next time :D

also nicked a main blade apparently from the FOD of the tail blades.

They break even if they are loose. Guess how I know THAT. :)

If they're tight enough, they won't be able to move into their balance position and that will result in vibration.

They need to be able to lead and lag a bit to prevent vibration as Vera said but yep, if they hit something its likely they will break. I tore up a set of Radix tail blades just by hitting tall grass. :(

i had mine so tight when i first started that i brushed the ground coming in for a landing and it folded one blade in and wouldn't spin it back out. result- uncontrollable pirouette crash. blades and several plastic bits distroyed.
