Can somebody settle an argument for me? Which size paddles would be more responsive, 85mm or 95mm? I'm running 85s on a standard Intrepid gasser but was told by a club member that I should be running 95s. Which size is correct? Thanks.

95's are correct

Thanks, Gary. My theory was that 95s would grab more air and, therefore, would be more responsive. The other guy thought the 85s would be lighter and that they'd be more responsive. I'm running the 85s because that's what was recommended if I wasn't going to use the stock paddles. What are the advantages/disadvantages to running the 85s and should I actually be running 95s? Thanks again.

If you're doing extreme cyclic movements, tic tocs, even sometimes fast stationary flips, then you might feel some benefit with the bigger paddles.

I use them on my Turbine as it gives a very stable hover along with good cyclic when running the 810mm blades.

Do you feel the 85 mm paddles are slowing you down or holding you back?

Hi, Chris. The most aggressive maneuvers I'll probably ever do are loops and rolls, with a little inverted hovering thrown in, but that's it. And no, I don't think the 85s are holding me back at all. I actually think it flies beautifully. It's just that somebody in our club mentioned my paddles were too small and that got me wondering if I was in fact using the wrong size. Then I looked on V-blades web site and they recommend 90 or 95mm for this size bird, and they don't even make 85s anymore. All that just started playing mind games with me. I just need some reassurance I guess. BTW, tell Larry I said Happy Birthday.

Chris, did you mean you use 85 or 95mm paddles on your turbine with 810 mains?
