Question about gyro alignment

I have a cpp2, and the gyro gain pot is facing the right side of the heli. As I have been looking at the SR forums, I noticed the gyro is facing the rear of the heli. They both have the same gyro.

Does the mounting direction matter?

As long as the bottom of the gyro is flat to the yaw axis it doesn't matter where or how its mounted.
