First off, do you have a transmitter? If not, then you would most likely look into a sim with an included controller. Secondly, do you have a capable PC? Many sims (especially G3.5) require a good computer system to run well, and special attention should be paid to the graphics card. IMO you need a 128mb (or better) graphics card for any of the high-end sims. Lastly, are you on a budget? G3.5 and Reflex sell for around $200, Phoenix around $160 and ClearView for $30.

This thread has good info: http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=21291

I own a CPP and CX2 so I think I'll have to get one that comes with a controller. $30-$200 doesnt matter to me (I spend more than that in parts lol) I just want the best as far as actualy helping me learn to fly better. I guess that would be the physics.

I really like Reflex. The graphics are unbelievable and it seems pretty close with physics... although none of them I have tried really feel like the real thing. You do need your own remote though. I have heard great things about Phoenix.... but I don't really use the sim enough to justify changing it.

Here is a shot to show the graphics.... that is what sold me over G3. Since buying Reflex I tried G3, but I still like Reflex better.

Based on the helis you said you had FS One would be a good option also. I have it and the two helis (plus 3 or 4 more) you have, and it is cool to be able to fly the actual heli you own. They are all only so good, but FS One is close to the real thing, and it includes a TX for $200.

Another Sim discussion is in progress in the general flying forum (first link), some strong difference of opinion about FS-1.

I have it, and also CPPro, CX2, and for me it works very realistically. My 2c.

I have FS one and a Blade CPP.

For ME, it woks great, and is a pretty fair approximation.

I tried out G3 (or maybe 3.5, I don't know) at ,y LHS. The helis on that sim seemed WAY easier to fly in the sim than my CPP does in real life.

Just my (n00b) opinion, but there it is...

I have FS One. The physics seem dead on. The graphics are great too. It's new software and there aren't many helis to choose from but so what. Customizing your tranmitter can be frustrating and the user interface isn't the best, but so what. If you want to fly in a sim and have it translate to the real world, FS One kicks butt. I can't count the number of times I've been in the real world and said, "wow, I've seen and felt this exact thing before".

Thanks guys. I got G3.5 earlier this afternoon before reading all these post. I guess the main reason is because the demo worked on my laptop LOL. Anyway I like it. Seems to be a great way to keep my repair cost in check. I know I've spent over $200 in parts from learning. I found a couple BCPP files on the net that are pretty good and I'm going to try and tweak some files later when I get used to fly and all that.

Hahaha... ya, she got most of my money too... but I've had a few years to recover so I have been buying up as many toys as I can before the next one takes all of my money again. I have a pretty boring job so I need something at the end of the day to keep me happy.

How do you like G3.5 so far? I've tried G3 but not 3.5. Can you download boards/helis from the internet for it?
