May I ask what the issue was with the pack being that I am having a problem with a brand-new extreme 5000, which TP is claiming I damged the very first time I attempted to charge it with its 1010C and balancer. It's tech support guy wants me to pay $160 to relace it after just spending $310 for the battery, $400 for the chrger, and about $100 for the balancer. May I also whom you discussed it with at TP, perhaps i can do the same. thanks FM

You paid $400 for a 1010C??? That's double the normal list price... I'd be interested in hearing the tale of the battery problem you experienced.

Perhaps I paid $300 for the charger and balancer, not sure at the moment. For some reason $400 sticks in my head. The more I think about it I probably paid $300.

Regarding the battery, I ran my Trex 600 fgor a few moments. The first sign of the motor slowing down (the Align speed controller's first stage of voltage protection) I shut it down, at which time the battery was rather warm. I let it cool, tried to charge it only to learn that a cell went bad. I contacted TP and was told SOL, it would charge me $160 to replace it being that I just bought it, never got to charge it. I am really po'ed. I have a call into management but he has yet to call me back, I am just holding my breath. TP is telling me that I should have reporgrammed the Algin ESC for high voltgage protection, like I would have known to do that. Its reply was, it knows, although it should have given a warning, and has yet to do so, it is still my fault, and that is why I should feel grateful it is only charging $160 to replace it. You may think I am exaggerating, but believe me I am not. I was also told that it is in the process of adding a FAQ to its website to warn others of this issue being that it is a common problem. Can you believe this? I used its charging equipment, bought the battery it markets and recommends for the TRex 600, but still it is my fault. Thanks for letting me vent. Fred

$400 would be about right for the charger and balancer combined. $289 for the charger and $89.95 for he balancer.

Thank you, I started to second-guess myself. Fm

Sorry to hear your prob, but I am curious you said you never got to charge it, but I am assuming you got to charge it at least once before you flew it right? Was the cell bad in the first charge? I assume not from your post, due to your info on the high voltage protection. I use TP for my 450 and am interested because I only try to support companies that support us. I hope you can work this out with them.

Yes, that is true; I stand corrected. The point I am making is that I never got to "fully" charge it. I got to top-off the charge with which the battery ws shipped.

I sent my TP 2070mah back to Andy at Real Raptors due to one cell had swelled after the fourth flight.
Have charge it and balanced it with TPs products.

They replace me with a new one :D

That I call great support!

Can you please tell me if you spoke with someone at TP, and if so with whom did you speak. FM
