Mike,

I ran my expert with a 70 and MP2....great power, crappy engine. I blew the piston on it 3 times with two different engines. Frankly I saw more power out of the ys61/sb15 combo than the 70/mp2 produced, alot more reliable going the ys route.

I would buy a YS-80 in good shape from a reputable person before the 70. WAY bigger power difference between the 61 and YS-80 than the 61 and 70.

I flew the YS 61 combo on my Expert and it was one of the best flying Helis I ever Had. Good power and the Heli Flew and was always dependable. The 70 is good also but run the Hatori 70 muffler. Both would be run on 9:3 ratio and with my choice of 690 V Blades. I have even run 700's but the 690's work perfect. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!! Hughs4569 is running the 70 with the Hatori pipe.

You will need the 11 tooth pinion for the clutch bell (0864-13). That is 11 tooth pinion with bearing installed. You will probably destroy the old bearing getting it out of bearing block.

Clutch plates 119-120 8.45 ratio
Motor mounts 119-50, 119-51 8.45 motor mounts
0864-13 11 Tooth Pinion with bearing installed.

The above parts will allow you to change from the 9.3 ratio on the Expert to 8.45

Hi Mike,

I have a nice YS .80 just back from YS Performance with new bearings, gaskets, and regulator diaghragm. Had not flown it for a few months, so sent it back in for a check up. Good as new!

If you are interested, PM or e-mail me. I will treat you right on it.

PS

I also have the mounts, clutch plated, pinion and bell, etc available. converted my first Expert to .80 with 8.45, then .91 with 8.18.

Let me know!
