Raptor pics please!

I got my canomod canopy from http://store.rcsupersales.net/servlet/-strse-Canopies-Airbrushed/Categories

For a raptor 90 its $99 including shiping. I purchased the 3D version of what you see in the photos above, very nice paint and the fiberglass is thicker than the Maverik brand so should hold up better in the event of a crash. BTW: the canopies from Arizona heli I think have the thickest fiberglass.

Only things I found wrong with the canomod was I had to drill the canopy mounts out (sofar this is typical) and I had to use the sanding disk on my dremmel to grind forward from where the swash plate goes, in order to accomodate the starter shaft. This worked fine and did not chip the paint at all using the slowest setting on my dremel.

I would recomend coating the edge of the canopy where you cut out for the starter shaft or muffler with CA to prevent the possability of fuel residue lifting the paint in these areas.

Canopy is from Canomod but their clearcoat finish is poor. I sanded mine and reapplied my own clear for a high gloss look with good image retention instead of the orange peel infested rubbish that Canomod thinks is "automotive quality clearcoat".

Some Raptor 90 Custom action shots....

I say custom because it started life as a 60 aluminum frame (It has crashed twice and hasn't done any frame damage, very strong frame) .
It was converted before I got it, it was unused and needed completion. It came with an OS91SXH "C" spec, I installed a MP5 muscle pipe, Carbsmart w/HS55, fits perfect in the webbing on the bottom of the servo tray, three JR8717s, a GY611 w/9256, a Futaba 9253 throttle servo, "Cat eye mod" done to carb, AR7000 and throttle jockey gov/rev limiter. Radix 710mm stick bangers, on top of the TT metal main head (1950 headspeed) with "Correct" flybar cage with 3D seesaw, G force mixing arms, I had to remove some matl from the opening in the head where the seesaw pivot.
Carbon fiber boom and torque tube w/carbon fiber struts as well, stock plastic H&V stabilizer, stock tail with neon yellow KB tail blades, TT red flybar paddles with the inner part removed. Composite canopy painted with luster Kote nitro proof paint with clear coat, which I painted myself.

Blueprint for a Raptor that flys like it should.

I still have a few things I need to change out. Collar around one way is not needed and the H stab isn't needed either, just a clamp for the struts.

It is flying very good with lots of power to pull through the 14+/14- pitch. I've tamed the pitch down from what it is capable of being adjusted to.

Just got my 90se in the Air this last weekend . Got 3 flights on her , just getting some break-in on the motor . Everything went Great , No trouble with anything .
91 SZ-h , CY MP5. CY Solid G gyro ,CY Radix 710mm Mains , CY Radix 105mm T/R, JR DS8717 x 3 , JR DS8900G ,Running 8.27 gear ratio . Lots of power , even running Rich on break-in .
Can't wait for the weekend now !! :thumbup:

Pesonal Best! 5 flights today and still with usable helicopters!! 2 on the Raptor 30 w/ a new OS 37 and 3 on the Trex 450. Interesting, you can 'feel' the difference in the 2 birds. I'm just at the level of hovering and starting to change the angle of the tail from side to side about 45 degrees each side. Still can't go sideways or nose in hovering yet. Doc
