Hey Guys,
Would anyone have any recommendations for tame-ing the weathervane effect I noticed when attempting to fly backwards. It could be a bad case of nerves but, when I rotated from forward flight to backward flight I notice it is difficult to maintain "tail first" flight above a certain speed.
I was flying a stock Raptor 50 setup with the help of the "helifreak group" (Thanks Again!) and using a Futaba GY401 gyro in HH /S9253 tail rotor servo.

Big TR blades, high gain, nerves and high headspeed is what you need.
Also being very smooth on collective and not bogging it at all really helps -- bog == forward flight.

Though my rappy 50 blows out in backwards pretty easily at the moment, unlike a fury  , will be trying some MAH 90 blades to see if it helps (was running 80 somethings before) and hope they hold it.

Someone should make a speedup gear for the rappy tail!

Thanks for the help. Another suggestion made to me was a 3D vertical tail fin besides the recommendations you made. Let me know if larger tail rotor blades helps on your heli.
