I want to charge and balance the A123 10S brick with the 1010C & 210V. Version 2.00 on the 1010C. I do not have the USB cable to do an upgrade.

Is this the correct method?
-Charge at the 9S setting on the charger.
-100% charge setting.
-210V is plugged into the battery but not the 1010C.

I charged it up very slowly and the balancer was doing its thing. However the nominal voltage of this pack after charging and resting is lower than 3.6V per cell... so does the 210V continue to balance it properly? Reading the 210V instructions, I'm not sure if it still does the balancing thing below 3.6V per cell. It says to proceed with charging when that happens, but I have already charged the pack.

Any additional tips on dealing with these A123 10S packs when using the TP charger and balancer is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

There is a firmware upgrade for the 1010 on TP's site. It has the new A123 programing.

Wish I could help here, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Your best bet is to upgrade the firmware, it will be less of a headache and you can charge at full current on 5A and be done charging in 25-30 min.

Well there was a group of us that wanted to pass my cable around. each person chipping in $5. I only got 2 people to commit, if we get more, then Ill do it. I need to at least cover the cost of the cable if it gets lost in the mail.

Probably does make more sense to buy one. Can anyone recommend a good source, price wise?
