I've got to go almost full throttle to lift off about 10 inches. What's going on here??

It was working great but i was flying down at my beach house and I picked up a gust of wind and I was too close to my heli, then it sort of flew into me. The rotors hit my stomach pretty good.

It was only after this accident I realized that my lift was severely decreased.

HELP PLEASE!!

Did you damage anything?
You might start off by making sure your paddles are straight.

don't think i damaged anything. I looked over the heli pretty good. The paddles are straight. The tip of one of the rotors is showing a bit of balsa but that's it.

did you check the pitch with a pitch gauge? Maybe a servo or something was damaged and now it cant make full pitch :dontknow

i'm thinking it could be the pitch. How do you use a pitch gauge? I got the align one.

Check the head out you may have damaged the center hub even a small crack would prevent you from lifting.

Blades probably should be parallel with the fly-bar. Disconnect main motor and tail motor turn on TX, connect battery and set main blades to 0.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but sounds like negative pitch to me.

Pitch gage basically aids in sighting the blades in relation to the fly bar. Again somebody tell me if I'm wrong.

Check out: http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=12455 Look at the pitch/throttle curve video. It will tell you how to check pitch and what is going on with it.

Also check the blade tracking. It makes a BIG difference in lift.

My new, out of box Honeybee CP2 had same problem. I changed the washer arrangement "sticky collective" fix and now it hovers at 1/3 throttle with training gear on. Search "sticky collective" for full info and pics.

Make sure your throttle trim is all of the way up before takeoff. Also, grab your head and try to turn the main gear with the other hand. If it turns without turning the head your retaining pin holding on the head is sheared and needs replaced.

Also, check the tracking. When the blades are out of track it will really kill your lift!
