I have two 4400 align packs both are 6s2p, I have the balance adapter
and they charge fine I was wondering what is the best charge rate and why do I have to stop the charge or do I they both get to 25.1 and the charger keeps going I get nervous and stop it. Will it shut off. I charge usually at 1amp. I need these to last a while they fly fine for me Im still a hover kinda guy no 3d here. Please advise feel free to give me any settings I watched the videos on this site it got me going and charged
I just feel like Im missing something. Thanks John

I have the same setup. I plug the adapter cable into the balancer, then into the battery, then hook up the batt to the charger. Just make sure it's set to 6 cells and dial in the charge rate. I almost always use 4.4A 'cuz the power supply I'm using sometimes overheats and shuts off at much over 6A charge. 4.4A is 1C and is perfectly safe to use for these batteries. Just keep an eye on 'em as they charge.

I get mine going then just "babysit" while they're charging to make sure they're not getting warm or puffing. I let the charger do its thing until it beeps and tells me it's done.

And provided balance is good what voltage does yours shut off at the battery says
25.1 but my charger is still going at 25.1???

Dunno what the voltage is at shutoff.. I'll try and fly a pack after work tonight and get it on the charger and see.

My 1010C charges up to 25.2, then ramps down the charge current slowly until the charge is complete. Don't worry that it's not stopping at 25.1, 25.2 is where it's supposed to go before the charge is complete.

Lipos are charged in a Constant Current/Constant Voltage setup.

When the pack is low the charger will charge at the amp rate you set. For virtually all packs 1C (1 times the pack capacity) is fine and safe and will give long pack life.

At first this will take less than the max voltage for the pack. So over time the amp rate stays the same, but the voltage required to charge at the rate goes up. This is the Constant Current (amp) stage.

At some point in the charge, the charger hits the max voltage for the pack (25.2 volts for a 6S pack), and the charger then switchs to Constant Voltage mode where it holds that max voltage and lets the charge rate ramp down as the pack tops off.

At some point it decides that enough it enough and the pack is charged. WIth te TP 1010C at 2 amp charge rate, that is when the charge rate drops to 0.2 amps. On my Triton it charges until the pack holds the voltage for a short period of time with the charge current turned off. So the Triton actually charges the pack more fully, but the difference is a few mAH.

The TP1010C has a Fast Charge mode, which doesn't change the rate at any point, but just terminates the charge at a high current level, so you only charge to 95%. That last 5% takes a while, and doesn't really make a big difference in your flight time.

Ok thanks, I charged to 100 percent, and shut off at 25.20 volts. Thanks John

Glad someone pointed that out. I *JUST* walked in from work a few mins ago and didn't get a chance to fly my 600. It's raining anyways so I was doubly cursed.

Got my Trex 600 out kinda windy here, not to bad fingers are numb but thats the price you pay. Used up 4 align 4400 packs what a good day. Any time I go out and heli comes home in one piece. Not bad for a guy whos owned a Raptor 30 since they came out and now has taken the time to learn. No inverted flying here but at least circles and straight fore aft and sideways. Twenty more years and I'll be good. Hope you got out and enjoyed it. I am so impressed with the 600. If I would of bought it first I would of stuck in there instead of a two year break. See ya
John.
