:arggg: Photo on upper right of Page 30 of the "manual" I printed off the Intrepid 60 CD shows the auto hub in the main gear, with the flange going into the tail drive gear side of the main gear- but all subsequent photos in the manual show the opposite. Is this a red herring photo thrown in to separate the men from the boys, or drive a newbie nuts? Since the assembled photos show the other way of assembly it would make sense that one is wrong.
Each day I try to do one small thing of assembly- but each time I spend more time double checking everything than actuall assembly.
Is there a newer version of the assembly manual (mine says Rev. 3 on cover page).
Thanks,
Vince

The gotcha here is that the main gear in that photo has tail drive teeth on BOTH sides, The latest ones only have teeth on one side.
If you look at the hub, one side is longer than the other. This is the top or upper side, and is installed from the bottom (smooth side) of the main gear. Install the 4 3X8 low head cap screws from the top, with loctite.

Thanks Chris,
If it wasn't for that one photo I would have been OK, didn't think I was losing my mind afterall, but it pays to read the whole manual thoroughly before loctiting it all together. Now I have a question about the split( driven) tail drive gear upgrade, is it a direct replacement for the main gear or are other parts needed to fit it? I have a used split tail gear that seems taller overall than the new included gear/hub assembly. Also, are the gears available separately for the driven tail gear assembly?
Thanks,
Vince

The driven tail system requires a longer main shaft, with an additional divot to secure the crown gear to. There is also a 1mm washer needed as a spacer shim.
The gear are available as a set, inner and outer.

Thanks Chris,
I thought it must need a longer mainshaft.
