Have you seen this yet?

Looks like Spectrum is stepping up to the plate with Futaba Products.

I must say...I had thoughts of selling the 12Z and getting a DX-7...but the new modules look very promising. Let's just say I will probably be first in line!

I tend to believe the “Breaking News” on Radio South web site.

http://www.radiosouthrc.com/

(1) Radio South provided us with solid and reliable RC gears for 20+ years. Not vapor ware. Why should they risk their reputation?

(2) Similar “leaks” from Futaba’s largest distributor on the other side of the pacific outside Japan. As I have posted a few weeks before the first batch will be offered as an option with the downgraded 12.

(3) Futaba is not an arcane conglomerate that many would like to think. Moreover they have a 20 years lead in SS technology (not to mention the least problem with plastics and screws).

It is best advised that 12/14Z users should wait unless one prefers
- multiple wires sticking out from the module and restricts that 12/14 ch Tx to 8 ch (the latest 12/14Z software update have taken care of the 8 ch PPM issue - but you have to hack the interphase code in order to get access via the module port).
- trust someone with supposedly state of the art products yet can’t manage simple production logistics like “plastics and screws”.
