Hey guys,
I have a new Stratus kit I am building and I am trying to put an OS Cspec with OMI mod into it. The kit came with an addendum that said that the backplate mount was new for the SZ and that the second mounting plate is no longer inculded. Further, the 3X14MM bolts for the backplate are too small for the Cspec. Any ideas, aside from calling MA?

As far as I know the SZ backplate ( 126-32] will not work with the C Spec. The gap between the clutch driver and fan hub would be too much.
I believe you need base plate( 126-24) and adapter plate ( 126-25). For the CSpec. At least that is what I am using. The bolts that bolt the base plate to the back plate of the engine are 3.5 mm X 15mm.

Jeff,
I went and looked at my Stratus after I made the above post. I am just using 126-24 base plate and not the 126-25 adapter plate with it also.
So if you have the 126-32 adapter plate for the SZ and also the 126-25 adapter plate. Those two pieces together might work with the Cspec. You would still need the 3.5 mm X 15 mm bolts.

If you want to figure out how to make the heights work out, you need to know the height variance on between the C-Spec and the SZ. Eric Larson has those numbers on his website. Next, you can measure and look up the thickness of the SZ baseplate, the C-Spec baseplate, and the C-Spec spacer. If the total height of whatver combo you choose puts you within several mm's of where the total height of the SZ with its single baseplate would fall, then it will all work fine. You do need to open up up the 3mm holes in the SZ backplate for the C-Spec's screws as Daivd correctly noted.

My comments measuring the heights and so forth are not theoretical. I did that exact thing when I wanted to fly over along weekend and thus made up a g-10 spacer to go with a SZ baseplate to mount a C-Spec.

This morning I ordered both the 126-24, 126-25 and also the 3.5X15 screws from Ricks, so I should be prepared. I'll check out Erics sight for the right height. Thanks again for the speedy responses.
