Hey Heli Buds,
If any of you have the DX7 on your Bergen Gasser; could you give me a run down as to how you set up your settings? I know every heli isn't going to be the same but, if I can get a good reference point to start out with; I would feel better about my first take off (not first flight)with this new system.
Thanks for any of the info I have asked for. I know this might take someone some time to gather all this info. So again thanks for taking that time.

I was wondering, would the setup be any different than a JR radio?
Are you asking about travel limits or antenna placement?

Sorry guys,
Should have gave little more detail. Yes, I'm looking for the travel limits. I also think you may be correct on being pretty close to one of JR's newer models out there.I think this system is based off of the JR 7202. The only thing is that they say the response is much better then the other radios out there. This might make a pilot with the wrong settings over control the heli till they get use to it. I have yet to see for myself as I'm use to a older JR that was mostly manual controlled. It didn't have as much digital help. So, I don't really have much of an old setting to go off of with my old radio.
Thanks again for any info on this

Not having a DX7 here myslef, although one is on the way for setup in a customer's heli, I would guess that the travel limits would be similar to JR and Futaba.
When we talk about travel limits, we're referring to the maximum throw that is available, mechanically. We're using the same servos, same programming, so why would those throws be different for a DX7?
Now when talking about the quicker response with the DX7, then you're looking at how fast it goes from point A to point B. If this is too quick a response, simply add in some exponential to slow the response around center stick, but keeping the total throw available.
In the Intrepid line, typically the throws are as such,
Aileron 115%
elevator 85%
collective 100% for +-10 degrees
throttle 90-100% depending on wheel usage
rudder 80% usually give a nice pirouette rate, increase for faster piros.

Thanks Cris,
Keep me up to date on your setup with your customer's DX7. Let me know what you think works best for your Bergens when done.
Again thanks for the info

Rick,
I've got a DX7 set up in my EB. The manual is fine in helping set ups. Most of my end point settings ended up close to my Futaba set up. The 401 Gyro was the trickiest, and I'm not sure I have it settled out, but I have flown with the radio. I built a strong box with the RXs 90 degree from each other with just the antennas sticking out. Range is great. I have a GV-1 and that was easy to set up. Throttle curves have been an issue, but that's my issue as I have just put a Bergen muffler on the engine and I suck at engine tuning. I'm lucky enough that I'll take a trip up and see Chris for help as soon as the weather breaks. If you need help PM me and I can give you all my settings.
