Cutting ESC wires how much is enough?

I plan on doing some soldering tonite and wanted some advice. I heard that its always good to have short ESC leads and Im curious how much should I cut off. Below is a pic of my ESC and its leads, thanks.

Well I just got off the phone with CC and they say its cool to cut the motor leads on the ESC. The tech even said he cuts his to an "inch in length", ouch way too short for me lol.

Motor to ESC connection is not length critical. Cut them to the length to fit from the motor to the ESC. Or lenghten them if needed. Sort like Mark Twain's answer to how long should a man's legs be, long enough to reach the ground. :)

The length of the wiring between ESC and battery IS critical, in that you don't want to go any longer than what comes on the battery and ESC.
