just bought me a dx7, couldn't wait to find heli model, so i bought the aircraft model. Just was wondering the differnce in the 2. All i can find is the switches are labeled differnt. Is there anything else i might have missed? Did i mess up getting the air one for my helo? Been flying it, just wondering? Awesome control, no glitch no more.

Switches are in different physical positions and have different labels. (There are no more/fewer on either, just different placement).

Heli shipped with "Smooth" throttle stick and air with "ratchet". Either can be changed either way. In fact, the 'other' spring thingy that goes in the gimbal assembley in the back should be in the servo parts bag.

Software is identical, but heli defaults to heli when a model is reset, air defaults air.

That's it for differences. Either type can be flown with either, most heli pilots strongly prefer the heli switch placement. If you intend to fly heli a lot, and you can still return it, it consider switching... ultimately it's your call... it will certainly physically work just fine!
