what are the main differences between gyros for example Futaba Rate Gyro FP-G154 and GY401

The G154 is an old style mechancial gyro. It uses two brass wheels spinning by a motor. It consumes a lot of milliamps to operate.
The GY 401 has an electronic sensor. Consumes very little milliamps. Has AVCS mode ( most call this heading hold). Is very predictable in its function compared to the older G154 gyros.
